Huge blaze tackled by firefighters
FIREFIGHTERS tackled a huge blaze at a factory in Westhoughton last night.
Passers-by raised the alarm just after 7pm when they spotted plumes of smoke coming from a unit at the Wingates Industrial Estate, pictured.
Eight pumps were called to tackle the blaze at the Bernstein Group Kitchen Planners and Furnishers — reported to be a disused warehouse — in Great Bank Road.
Readers of The Bolton News told how the smoke billowed in a massive plume into the sky.
