A MAN who stabbed his friend to death in a row over a mis-spelt text message has been convicted of manslaughter.
The jury at Manchester Crown Court took just over three hours to find Neil Brook not guilty of murder but guilty of an alternative charge of manslaughter.
Brook, aged 33, of Wilbraham Road, Walkden, stabbed his 27-year-old friend and neighbour Josef Witkowski to death after he turned up at his flat following an argument they had over a series of text messages.
Brook said Mr Witkowski came at him with a knife when he opened his door.
He will be sentenced tomorrow. (Weds).
Judge Michael Henshell warned him that he would be going to jail for a long time.
