Woman punched in face by youth

A WOMAN was punched in the face by a drunken teenager who was sitting in her driveway.

The 44-year-old woman was trying to park her car in her drive in Old Hall Lane, Lostock, on Friday at around 8pm when she was attacked.

As she pulled up to her house, she saw a teenage boy on the drive. He became abusive and aggressive towards her, before demanding a lift.

When she refused, he leaned into the car to try to steal her keys. The woman struggled with him for a short time before he punched her in the face. Her injuries were not serious.

A youth was arrested by police a short time later on suspicion of assault.

A 17-year-old from Bolton has been charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear at Bolton Youth Court on May 14.
