THE leader of the Conservative group on Bolton Council, Cllr John Walsh, has been re-elected unopposed.
Cllr Walsh said: "I am delighted that my colleagues have re-affirmed their support. Conservatives will continue to challenge Labour on its unpopular policies like congestion charging and the contractors framework."
The Conservatives have 23 seats on the council following the local elections on May 1.

Cllr Bob Allen was elected deputy leader and Cllr Andy Morgan as group whip. The chief whip and group spokesmen are still to be announced.
The Tories in Bolton must ask themselves why, with the Labour support nationally at its lowest ever level, Tories are not doing better in Bolton. Here in Heaton, they seem to take the seat for granted and there was no activity or sign of a single poster except in the Tory Agent's office in New Hall Lane. Just because we all hate Labour and the Libdems doesn't meant that we will vote Tory in the next election. Ruth Kelly, rightly, has a lot of support from people who would not support Labour normally.

That is the only reason she gets in. She does not represent, or relate in any way to Labour voters.

Thank you Abbott,I was just thinking about the hierarchy of life.
I've just come back from Chester Zoo and realised that the monkey scratching its gonads has more sense than you.

She's hardly ever in Bolton.
Her kids are schooled privately in London to prep for Eton!
Where's the [italic]"rightly"[/italic] in that?
