A DISQUALIFIED driver was ordered by magistrates to complete unpaid work after police spotted him behind the wheel.
Philipe Ahimana was pulled over by police on patrol in Chorley New Road in Bolton at 12.30pm on Tuesday.
A computer check showed he had been disqualified from driving for two years in January, 2006, but had also been ordered to take an extended driving test before he was eligible to drive again.
Bolton Magistrates Court heard that Ahimana thought the order expired and did not realise he had to take an advanced test.
Ahimana, aged 38, of Deane Road, appeared at Bolton Magistrates Court on Wednesday and pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance.
He was sentenced to a 12 month community order with 120 hours of unpaid work, and ordered to pay £43 court costs.
