Donations to hospital in memory of Jonathan
Jonathan:
Jonathan: "If anything good can come out of the tragedy, this is it because the equipment will help others" - dad David

THE family of Jonathan Sharples, the teenager who died with his best friend in a road accident, have donated a defibrillator to the Royal Bolton Hospital, where he was treated.

Jonathan and Daniel Harrison were killed when the Ford Ka they were travelling in hit a tree in Old Kiln Lane, Heaton, last December.

They were both sixth-formers at Bolton School.

The defibrillator has been donated by Jonathan's parents, David and Catherine Sharples, from Aspull, and it carries an inscription which reads: "If I can start a beat, when the heart falls asleep, I will have achieved my goal in heaven".

Friends of Jonathan have also raised £1,500, which has been presented to the hospital's casualty department.

Mr Sharples said: "We want to say thank you for the professional attention the hospital staff gave to Jonathan and the care they gave to all his family.

" If anything good can come out of the tragedy, this is it - because the equipment will help others.

"We want to thank all the people who have given donations and sent us messages of support.
