BOLTON Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce is taking time out to learn more about Islam.

Sam will be attending an open day at Bolton's biggest purpose-built mosque Zakaria Mosque, in Peace Street.

The Imam of the mosque is hosting open days on Sunday and Monday to encourage better understanding of the Muslim community among people of no faith or a faith other than Islam. Sam plans to visit the mosque on Monday afternoon, but it is open to the public on both days.

There will be the opportunity to observe prayers at 6.10pm and 7.20pm, view an Islamic Cultural Exhibition, listen to and view multimedia presentations and discuss issues with the Imam and other scholars.

Imam Rashid Musa said: "The open day will give people an insight into Islam and allow them to develop their understanding of the Muslim community, its cultures and its practices.

"We're thrilled that Sam Allardyce is coming along.

The event runs from 3pm to 8pm on Sunday and 2.15pm to 8pm on Monday. For further information, contact Imam Rashid on 07725 072138.
