IF you ever saw this reindeer you would certainly say it glows!

The 15ft illuminated Rudolph is again lighting up a village after delighting visitors over the past two festive seasons.

The towering display can be found outside the home of the Kennair family, in Grange Road, Bromley Cross.

And, as well as the dazzling reindeer, the house is also decked out in more than 10,000 LED lights to truly set the area sparkling.

Johnny and Helen Kennair have been putting up the festive light display for the past decade to raise money for Bolton Hospice.

And Rudolph was added two years ago as Johnny wanted to make Christmas an extra-special time for children Grace and Ethan, aged nine and six.And the family now has 18-month-old Finlay. But Mrs Kennair says people come ‘from all over’ to see ‘Rudolph’.

She said: “We get lots of cars stopping outside and coming up the drive, I don’t think people expect it to be so big. We get people asking all year when the reindeer is going up. It’s nice for the community to have that extra anticipation . A donation box for Bolton Hospice is on the gate and an online fundraising page runs alongside it.

The illuminations are held in memory of Mrs Kennair’s mum, June Wall, and uncle Philip Hobson. She said: “It’s a family thing we do in her memory with the hospice in mind.”

And she added that it was her uncle’s own festive lights display that inspired her husband . “He would’ve loved it,” she said.
