WESTHOUGHTON building contractor Forrest has completed its 10,000th repair project for social housing provider Equity Housing Group.

According to Forrest, 99 per cent of the tenants gave the work a positive customer satisfaction score.

Forrest, based in Dodd Lane, says it has also completed all the emergency repairs and non-emergency maintenance jobs on time.

The work was carried out as part of Forrest’s four-year responsive repair and maintenance agreement with Equity, which marked its first anniversary in April.

To celebrate its success, the partners held a week-long celebration for residents, including parties for tenants at Fulstone Mews in Stockport, Cambridge Gardens in Southport and Acacias in Trafford, Manchester.

As part of the £4.8 million framework, Forrest is responsible for delivering planned and responsive repairs and maintenance, as well as out-of-hours emergency and urgent support. The agreement covers more than 4,500 properties across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, Derbyshire, Yorkshire and Shropshire.

The contractor also supports the group’s Equity Foundation, which is designed to promote positive activities in local communities. To date more than £160,000 has been invested in 76 projects, to benefit over 43,000 residents.

Forrest managing director Mark Lyons said: “While repairs and maintenance are the bread-and-butter of Forrest’s offering, responsive agreements require a much more flexible approach, needing to quickly get to the route of the problem and make tenants homes safe and comfortable again.

“With Equity we have proven that we are able to offer convenient, effective and high quality services that that are sensitive to tenants’ needs.”
