BOLTON'S first 24 hour gym is opening in August, creating up to 14 jobs.

The Gym Group, which has 61 gyms across the country, will open a branch at Bolton Gate Retail Park on August 10.

Chris Green, who has worked in the leisure industry for more than 12 years, has been appointed as general manager.

He said: “I’m originally from Bolton, having grown up in nearby Harwood and Bradshaw, so I’m really excited about supporting people from the local community overcome barriers to fitness and helping them reach their fitness goals.

"We offer flexible membership terms that allow members to come and go as they please.

“With the help of Dean Wilson, assistant general manager, we’ll be offering a range of fantastic classes, designed to suit all abilities — and it’s all included in the low monthly price.

"We want to attract a whole new group of local people to The Gym.

"For example, those on low incomes, students, retired people and shift workers, as well those who value the 24 hour opening and flexible membership terms.”

Along with the new gym equipment and classes, there will be 12 personal trainers employed at The Gym Bolton.

Members can access the gym 24 hours a day with prices from £10.99 a month, no commitment to a 12 month contract and without the add-ons some members do not use or want to pay for such as towels, plush carpets and café areas.

John Treharne, CEO of The Gym Group, said: “We deliver a ‘what you see is what you get’ service at an affordable price.

"But more than this, at The Gym, there are no contracts to tie you in because we know that people need flexibility to accommodate other changes in their lives and to come and go from their gym as and when they want.”

The Gym Bolton is currently offering monthly membership for £10.99, with no joining fee, for a limited time only.

It will also be open for viewing from July 27, giving new members the chance to sign up ahead of the official opening.
