A BOLTON business woman has been shortlisted for a North West Award.

Charlene Wallis from Diamond Dazzle Hair And Accessories, in Bolton Market's Lifestyle Hall, is a finalist in the customer service category of The Enterprise Vision Awards 2016.

Ms Wallis, who lost her dad, Michael, to cancer when she was just 17 years old, supplies and fits full head wigs for people who have lost their hair through cancer and other causes.

The service has been a lifeline for customers since securing an NHS contact to supply the wigs for NHS voucher holders in 2004, saving patients a trip into Manchester.

This is the second time running Ms Wallis has been a finalist for the EVA awards, having been nominated for the young entrepreneur award last year.

She said: "I'm really excited and can't wait to feel like royalty again, with the red carpet entrance and the waiter and waitress service.

"I really hope to win the customer service award for this year, it would mean a great deal to me, and would have made my Dad very proud.

"Thank you to the judges for choosing me out of the hundreds of applications."

The Enterprise Vision Awards recognise women in business from across the North West.

Finalists can apply and be nominated for the awards and a shortlist of six is chosen by a panel of judges.

Ms Wallis now needs to impress the judges at an interview stage where finalist can score points which will be added to the result of a public vote which opens on August the 8 and close on September 9.

Winners are announced at a ceremony in Blackpool's Winter Gardens on September 23.
