THIS week’s Business of the Week is Bolton-based Supported Living Solutions (NW) Limited

Supported Living Solutions (NW) Limited, (SLS), was set up in April 2015 by Dan Mcsherry in partnership with Alison and John Thompson, whose son James requires 24 hour, 7 day a week, specialist support due to being on the Autistic Spectrum with associated learning, communication and sensory processing difficulties. SLS were registered with CQC (Care Quality Commission) in July 2015 and have since been providing the specialist support for James, within his own home.

SLS recently had their first CQC inspection and achieved a rating of GOOD in each area of support which gave SLS an overall rating of GOOD, as a small and newly established provider this is the highest rating they could have hoped to achieve.

SLS employ teams of staff from the local area to provide bespoke care packages specific to the support needs of each individual in their own home and the community. SLS work in partnership with Bolton Council`s health and social care professionals to ensure the service they are providing is of the highest quality possible.

During the inspection a local authority professional told CQC, "If I could bottle this service and give it to everyone who is living with autism I would do, I have nothing negative to say about this service”

Dan Mcsherry, Registered Manager said. “It has been really hard work over the last two years so the inspection report that reflects the commitment we put into everything we do is a massive achievement for all involved. The report was compiled following inspection of the premises, working practices, interviews with myself, the staff team, the parents of the individual we support and a Bolton council social work professional. We are now at a point where we want to expand the support we provide to other individuals and their families within Bolton and feel this achievement is a great opportunity to let people know that there is high quality care and support available for people currently living in their own home or planning to in the future”.
