A Horwich beauty business is celebrating with a special party to mark its 10 year anniversary.

Revitalize Hair and Beauty Spa was founded by Egerton resident and award winning entrepreneur Francesca Stokes, aged 31, with her sister Stephanie Smith, in 2008.

Since then the spa the spa has continued to flourish, growing from a staff of four to a current staff of twelve, with a constantly expanding range of treatments and products available - despite losing Ms Smith who moved to Texas, being replaced as head beautician by Rebecca Hough.

Mrs Stokes said "The fact that we are still here is a great thing because we started in the middle of the credit crunch.

"There's not much support out there for businesses to grow.

"I would like to thank all my staff and loyal customers for their continued support throughout the years. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them.

"We also wouldn't be in the position that we are without the team around us.

"We have a really good team and they are not just colleagues they are friends as well, and I would like to thank them for their hard work."

A mother of two and wife to Michael, Mrs Stokes has successfully balanced raising a family with driving forward a thriving business.

In 2009 Mrs Stokes was recognised by the NatWest Everywoman Artemis Award for Britain's most inspiring female entrepreneur between the ages of 18-25.

She then featured in the Modern Muse project book the following year, after being put forward by Sharon Hilditch MBE, the founder of skincare brand Crystal Clear.

Mrs Stokes said: "The book and nationwide project was designed to provide real life inspiration role models, such as theatre producer Judy Craymer, for young women to replace the celebrities they now look up to."

"I was also asked to speak at the book launch that was held in London."

To mark their ten year anniversary the salon hosted an celebration on Monday December 4, including a Prosecco and canapé reception, hair and beauty demonstrations for clients, and a raffle.

All money raised at the event will go to Bobby's Fight to support Bobby Lowe and his family in his battle against leukaemia.

However, despite reaching the milestone Revitalize is not looking to rest on it's laurels but Mrs Stokes said the company is always looking for new ways to expand, including looking to go into barbering.
