Georgia Debney, aged 19, has just set up her new company - Dib Dab Digital. Georgia, from Heaton, received the New Enterprise Allowance through the job centre and a start up loan through The Princes Trust Explore Enterprise Scheme. She will be trading at The Teenage Market in Bolton on April 21. Here she tells us more:

DIB Dab Digital is a video/photo production business that specialises in creative portfolios for people like dancers, actors, models, musicians and make up artists but we also offer event coverage, promotional materials corporate content and much more.

I decided to start this business after I finished college and spent a year on benefits getting told I had “too much experience” for an entry level position in or out of the media but I also didn’t have enough “specialised experience” to substitute a degree.

University didn’t appeal to me so at the age of 19 I started working towards funding for things like insurance, marketing equipment, registering as a data controller and of course getting loads more equipment to match the standard of what I can produce.

Nine months later; I’ve secured myself the New Enterprise Allowance and after working very closely with The Princes Trust I also got myself a start up loan and a small grant to kick me off not to mention access to all their amazing volunteers and ongoing mentorship.

I’m also in the process of applying for a new grant through Innovate UK called the Young Innovators Award – hopefully that’ll give me the ability to stop working out of my living room and switch to a proper studio!

I’ve been trading passively for a few months but now I feel like my business is ready to start taking on regular clients!
