NEW business patrons were welcomed at Bolton Lads and Girls Club along with the Mayor of Bolton.

Phil Foster from Love Energy Savings, Jon Lomas, the business enterprise manager from Bolton College,and David Heaton, from Chancellor Financial Management, were all unveiled as new patrons.

The Mayor of Bolton Cllr Colin Shaw attended the breakfast and guests were welcomed by Michael Peers, of Harry Peers Steelwork.

Jonathan Shorrock, of KBL Solicitors, which sponsored the event, urged patron businesses to get more involved with the club’s wide range of activities while acknowledging that their financial contributions remain vital.

He asked managers who are already active to encourage their staff to get involved for the benefit individual employees, businesses and young people.

He said: “Be creative about your patronage. There is so much more that you and your staff can do. You can develop your business leaders of tomorrow by helping the citizens of tomorrow. It’s a win-win-win situation for your firm, staff and Bolton’s young people.

“From volunteering at out beer festival, helping with work placements or taking your staff to lads club events at Haydock Races or Manchester Velodrome, there are many ways to help.”

Julie Lloyd, the club’s corporate fundraiser, said £450 was raised.
