Cleaners lower sales fall effect

THE owner of dry cleaning firm Johnson said a crackdown on costs was helping the chain protect profits.

Johnson Service Group, which has an outlet in Manchester Road, Bolton, said like-for-like sales were below hopes in the first half of 2009, but running costs were £100,000-a-week less than in November, which “significantly” reduced the blow to profits.
