A DRIVER who was stopped as he was about to go onto the M60 told police: “I don’t know how much I have had to drink — but I’m drunk”.

Ryan Lownie, aged 28, of Birch Road, Walkden, had been seen straddling the white lines with his windows misted up.

Lownie admitted driving with excess alcohol — he was more than twice the limit — on December 20 when he appeared at Manchester City Magistrates’ Court.

He was given a 15-month ban, fined £400 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £40 surcharge.
