A MAN has been jailed for 20 weeks after he stole beer and breached an anti-social behaviour order banning from having an open beer can in public.
Bolton Magistrates Court heard that Andrew Gorman, aged 29, of Fern Street, Bolton, took the beer, worth £2, from Shan and Sons store on February 16 and was caught the same day with an open can.
Two days earlier, an anti-social behaviour order had been made banning him from the town centre and some Bolton supermarkets and from having open alcohol cans in public.
Gorman had admitted the theft, but denied breaching the anti-social behaviour order and was found guilty after a trial.
