POLICE are advising young people on how to stay safe over Easter.

A website with activities in Bolton lists the events taking place throughout the borough.

These include something for everyone, such as rugby, museum visits, farm visits, wrestling, cricket, drama classes, scuba diving, sailing, arts and crafts and theatre trips.

Officers will be patrolling anti-social behaviour hotspot areas to warn youngsters to behave themselves as part of a raft of measures to combat trouble across Bolton.

Ass Ch Con Garry Shewan said: “This is a really useful website for young people, as boredom can sometimes set in over the holiday period, and a lot of the activities on offer will hopefully spark their interest.

“We know that the majority of youngsters are no trouble at all, and we want them to enjoy the Easter break, but I need to remind them that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated, and we will work closely with councils to prevent it from happening.”

Police will be upping patrols over the holidays to prevent large groups of young people from gathering and causing trouble.

Alcohol will be seized if it has been bought illegally, and officers will be working with Trading Standards to clamp down on stores and bars selling booze to underage people.

Adults who buy alcohol for young people will also be prosecuted.
