Man refused to hand over train ticket

BOLTON magistrates have sentenced a man to a conditional discharge for 18 months after he admitted assault and refusing to hand over a railway ticket for inspection.

Kadeem Crabbe, aged 23, of The Pack Horse, Nelson Square, was also ordered to pay £50 compensation, £30 prosecution costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Car owner refused to say who was driving

A CAR owner, who failed to tell police who was driving his Ford vehicle in Penrith on July 21 last year, has been fined by Bolton magistrates.

Lindsay Norris, aged 63, of Harwood Vale, Bolton, admitted the offence and was fined £100 plus £85 prosecution costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Driver had no insurance

A MOTORIST who drove a Ford Focus car without insurance or a licence, has been fined £175 by Bolton magistrates.

Martin Stanley, aged 40, of Buckley Lane, Farnworth, admitted committing the offences on Cleggs Lane on November 11 last year.

The court also ordered him to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Man was passenger in stolen Ford Focus

BOLTON magistrates have fined a car passenger after he admitted allowing himself to be carried in a stolen Ford Focus.

Stephen Jackson, aged 23, of Tavistock Road, Bolton, committed the offence on December 20 last year.

He was fined £165 and ordered to pay £65 prosecution costs plus a £20 victim surcharge.

Kearsley man drove through red light

A MOTORIST who drove through a red light on New Year’s Eve 2013 has been fined by Bolton magistrates.

The court was told that Lee Knott, aged 31, of Lord Street, Kearsley, went through a red light at the junction of Bradford Street and Castle Street.

He was fined £85 and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs plus a £20 victim surcharge.

Thief stole Islamic Relief charity box

A THIEF who stole charity money has been sent to Bolton Crown Court to be sentenced.

At Bolton Magistrates Court William Fisher, aged 33, of Brookdale, Blackburn Road, Bolton, admitted taking a charity box from Europa Taste on February 26, a charity bucket belonging to Islamic Relief on March 24 and a box from the Chapati Hut on March 29.

He also pleaded guilty to theft and criminal damage at Shah and Son, theft from the Shisma Bar, stealing cash from the Utd Food Store and possessing heroin.

He was remanded in custody until he can be sentenced at the Crown Court on April 24.

Farnworth man assaulted woman on Christmas Eve

A SUSPENDED prison sentence has been handed to a man who assaulted a woman on Christmas Eve.

At Bolton Magistrates Court Rory Grady, aged 39, of St Gregory’s Close, Farnworth, pleaded guilty to committing the offence and to stealing toys, worth £105 from Tesco on December 17.

He was sentenced to 18 weeks in jail, suspended for 12 months and was ordered to have treatment for drug dependency for four months.

Grady must also pay £50 compensation, £125 costs and an £80 victim surcharge.

A restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victim.
