A DRIVER has been stopped by police and arrested for being three times over the legal alcohol limit – with three children in the car.
North West Motorway Police tweeted to say they had pulled over the driver on the slip road from the southbound M61 to the East Lancashire Road this evening.
The tweet states: “GMP have stopped & arrested a drink driver who blew 3 times the legal alcohol limit on the M61 S/B to the A580. Driver had 3 kids on board.”
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed a vehicle was stopped on the East Lancashire Road at 6.13pm and the driver breathalysed and taken to a police station.
