Man with meat cleaver 

BOLTON magistrates have sentenced man to a 12 week curfew after he admitted having a meat cleaver and lock knife in public.

Kyle Cash, aged 21, of Gilnow Grove, Bolton, committed the offence in Mayor Street on July 22.

Magistrates told him he will be electronically tagged and must remain at home between 7pm and 7am each day.

He was also ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs, a £180 criminal courts charge and £60 victim surcharge.

Brandy thief 

A WOMAN who stole four bottles of brandy from a Bolton supermarket has been sentenced to a conditional discharge by magistrates.

Angela Andrews, aged 52, of William Kay Close, Manchester, pleaded guilty to taking the alcohol, worth £140, from Sainsburys on July 10.

She was also ordered to pay a £150 criminal courts charge, £85 prosecution costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Drink driver

A DRINK driver who was caught for a second time has been handed a suspended prison sentence by Bolton magistrates.

Craig Jeffrey, aged 26, of Fernstead, Bolton, pleaded guilty to driving a Fiat Punto on Venice Street on July 24 whilst over the alcohol limit and without a licence or insurance.

The court heard that it was the second time he had been caught drink driving and without insurance and had only just completed a driving ban.

He was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, will be subject to supervision by the probation service for 12 months and must attend a rehabilitation activity for 20 days.

In addition he was banned from holding a licence for three years and must pay a £150 criminal courts charge and £60 victim surcharge.

Van damaged

A WOMAN who caused damage estimated at £60 to a man's transit van has appeared before Bolton magistrates.

Rebecca Green, aged 21, of Lever Edge Lane, Bolton, pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced to a conditional discharge for 12 months.

She was also ordered to pay £60 compensation, £85 prosecution costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Drink driver banned 

MAGISTRATES have banned a driver from the roads for 16 months after he was caught over the alcohol limit.

William Patton, aged 41, of Timsbury Close, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence whilst driving a Kia Piccanto on Twisse Road, Bolton, on June 19.

He was banned from driving for 16 months and fined £180.

Patton must also pay a £150 criminal courts charge, £85 prosecution costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
