TWO thugs attacked 20-year-old for his iPhone 6 — leaving him unconscious in the street.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the man was robbed in Horwich at around 10pm on Monday last week.

The victim was walking down an alleyway next to Sainsbury’s in Winter Hey Lane when he was attacked from behind.

He was struck once to the back of the head and fell to the ground unconscious, allowing his attackers to steal his iPhone 6 and run off without being seen.

The victim regained consciousness a short time later and suffered only minor injuries.

Det Con Jonathan Ashcroft said: “Luckily this young man did not sustain any serious injury, but so often we see these types of attacks ending with much more tragic results.

“These cowards approached him from behind and knocked him out before stealing his phone.

“They then left him lying unconscious on the ground, completely disregarding his wellbeing.

“Unfortunately we don’t have a description of these men as the victim never saw them, but I would ask people who were in the area at the time to rack their brains.

“Did you see two people running away from the alleyway between 10.20pm and 10.40pm that night? If so, please contact police.”
