A VULNERABLE man has been left traumatised after he was attacked and raped by another man in a car park, police said.

The man, aged in his 40s, was attacked in a car park off Manchester Road in the early hours of the morning while walking home after a night out.

He was approached by a man who pushed him over a low wall onto the car park outside Kwik Fit, before raping him.

The attack is believed to have happened sometime between 4am and 4.30am on Saturday, September 5.

The offender is described as a white man aged in his late 20s, approximately 6ft and of stocky build, with short brown hair.

He was wearing a white long sleeved shirt and blue jeans, and is also described as ‘clean looking’.

Det Insp Damian Simpson, from GMP’s Serious Sexual Offences Unit, said the victim is very upset and is being supported by specially trained officers.

He said: “We have carried out extensive enquiries since this attack took place and we have now issued this footage of a man we wish to speak to in connection with this incident.

“The victim is a vulnerable man who has understandably been left traumatised by the attack and he continues to be provided with support from specially trained officers.

“If you recognise the man in the images, or if this is you, then please contact the police.”
