AN investigation has been launched by Bolton Wanderers after a video showing a steward threatening a fan emerged online.

The footage was filmed by a supporter and was shared on Twitter by fan site Burnden Aces following the club's 2-2 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

In a separate incident a number of Wanderers fans sitting close to away fans in the West Stand were pictured being thrown out by stewards.

A club spokesman could not confirm why the fans were ejected — but said an investigation had been launched.

The 30-second video, filmed outside the stadium near the Bolton Central club shop, shows a group of stewards ejecting a fan.

One steward escorting the fan away from the stadium tells him: "You are on Bolton Wanderers property and I am asking you to leave.

"I'll tell you what I'm going to do — I'm going to ask you nicely to leave."

He then swears and threatens to drag the fan off Bolton Wanderers property.

The steward adds: "Whichever one you want. I'm not fussy, your choice. Let's go — I'll drag you."

He then orders the fan not to stare him out before threatening him and saying: "I'll knock you out."

A Wanderers spokesman said: "The club is aware of both incidents and as with any matter of this nature, we will be conducting a full internal investigation."

A police spokesman said officers were aware of the incidents, but would not comment because it was not a criminal matter.
