Police help WH Smith staff with detained suspected shoplifters
POLICE had to intervene after shop staff detained two suspected shoplifters in Bolton town centre.
Officers were called to WH Smith in Victoria Square at 10.25am today after the man and a woman began shouting, swearing and trying to break free.
The scene was described as a "commotion".
It is not clear if the two detainees were arrested by police.
