A 77-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault of a child by officers investigating an allegation of inappropriate touching of a teenage boy in a Bolton cinema.
Detectives are probing the circumstances in which a 14-year-old boy was approached in the toilets at the Vue Bolton at Middlebrook Leisure Park in Horwich by a man who sexually assaulted him before walking off.
The attack happened at around 8pm on Saturday.
Officers investigating the incident arrested a 77-year-old man today suspicion of sexually assaulting a child.
He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
Detective Constable Jon Ashcroft, of GMP’s Bolton Division, said: "We have made an arrest but our investigation continues and I would ask that anybody with information on this incident get in touch.
"We take incidents like this extremely seriously and we are continuing to provide support to the victim who was understandably left feeling very distressed.
"The cinema can be a very busy place on a Saturday night so it is possible that somebody may have witnessed something or have information that can assist our investigation."
