THREE men posing as delivery drivers tied up a 19-year-old during a robbery in Bolton.

They approached the door of a property in Briksdal Way, Lostock, just after 2.30pm on Tuesday, May 31.

The 19-year-old man, who was alone, opened the door and the three men forced their way in wearing balaclavas and carrying hammers.

The three men tied the victim up with cable ties and duct tape and covered his mouth and eyes while they searched the house

The offenders stole cash and fled the scene in a dark coloured Mazda.

Police have released an e-fit image of a man they wish to speak to in relation to the robbery.

Detective Sergeant Robert Parker, of GMP’s Bolton borough, said: “This was a horrific attack against a young man who was home alone that has left him completely traumatised.

“We believe that this is an isolated incident that poses no threat to the wider community and have increased patrols in the area.

“This shocking attack happened in the middle of the day and we are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and seen these men or the dark Mazda to come forward and help us find the people responsible.

“We would also urge anyone who recognises the man in the e-fit to contact police.”

Neighbours say that police patrols in the area have been stepped up, and that there have been a number of daylight burglaries in the area.

One neighbour said: "I know that there had been an incident because police spoken to neighbours that there had been a robbery, but I did not know that this had happened.

"It is not nice, the police have spoken to people in the street that there had been a robbery, but I did know that this had happened.

"It is not nice when something like this happens, especially in the day.
"I know there have been some burglaries in the area before.
"There have been police in the area at night."

Another resident added: "I just hope they catch them, you move into a cul-de-sac thinking it will be safe."
