Court fine for drugs man

ZACK Mortimer, aged 36, of Begonia Avenue, Farnworth, has been fined £100 after committing a drugs offence.
Mortimer admitting to Salford magistrates that he was in possession of cannabis in Bolton on October 6 and was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
He also admitted breaching a conditional discharge order but the court decided to take no further action.

Moped rider had no licence

A MOPED rider has been ordered to pay £1,031 to a court after committing two driving offences.
James Samuel Dickinson, aged 37, of Winchester Way, Breightmet, was caught driving a Piaggio Zip moped in Bury Road, Bolton, on August 24 without a licence or insurance.
He was convicted of two driving offences at Salford Magistrates Court and was fined £880 and ordered to pay £151 court costs.
Dickson was also given six penalty points.

Yob jailed for racial threats

A YOB has been jailed for 12 weeks after admitting threatening behaviour.
Daniel Eric Dewhurst, aged 25, of Seddon Street, Little Hulton, admitted to Salford magistrates that he went to Stockport on October 7 and used racially aggravated threatening behaviour.
Magistrates said the offence was serious as Dewhurst has a previous record of offending and because he had failed to respond to other sentences.

Jail warning for court man

RICHARD Edward Edghill, aged 49, of Abbey Close, Daubhill, has been given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for a year after he admitted harassing a woman.
Edghill pleaded guilty at Salford Magistrates Court to harassing a woman in Salford by making unwanted phone calls and sending text messages to her between June 3 and June 27.
He committed the offences while subject of a 12-month conditional discharge order after being convicted of assault.
Edghill must also stay away from the woman for two years and pay £545 court costs.

Man begging in street fined

DAVID Lee Barlow, aged 45, of Firwood Avenue, Farnworth, has been convicted of begging in Manchester city centre.
Barlow committing the offence in Parker Street on July 17 and it was proved in his absence at Salford Magistrates’ Court.
He must pay £195 court costs.

Unpaid work after assault

A MAN has been ordered to do 100 hours of unpaid work after attacking a woman.
Nathan Hutchinson, aged 20, Grasmere Avenue, Farnworth, pleaded guilty at Salford Magistrates Court to assaulting the woman in Little Hulton on September 17.
Hutchinson has been ordered to stay away from the woman for at least a year.
He must also pay the woman £100 compensation and pay the courts £170 costs.

Court fine

A £50 fine has been issued to a man who admitted using threatening behaviour on October 19.
Darren Richardson, aged 44, of no fixed address, appeared before Bolton magistrates.

Assault man fined

MAGISTRATES have fined Zakir Mitha, aged 46, of Bennetts Lane, Bolton, £50 after he was found guilty of assaulting a woman on July 24.

Bakery attack

A MAN has pleaded guilty to causing £12,200 worth of damage to a Pound Bakery store.
Kyle Wilcock, aged 22, of Garstang Avenue, was bailed until November 11.

Fines for dog mess left in back street

TWO people have been fined for failing to pick up their animal’s mess.
Attila Nikolics, aged 37, and his partner Szilvia Kolompar, aged 32, both of Oxford Grove, Halliwell, were convicted at Bolton Magistrates’ Court in their absence of being in charge of a dog and failing to remove faeces from designated land.
Bolton Council officers were patrolling on March 1 when they saw a Staffordshire bull terrier defecate in the back street behind nearby Victoria Grove and run off.
Each defendant was fined £220 with £100 costs and a £22 victim surcharge.

Shoplifter took store alcohol

A THIEF has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for two years by magistrates after admitting shoplifting.
Bolton Magistrates Court heard how Jordan Sheridan, aged 22, of no fixed address, stole several bottles of alcohol from Iceland on June 27.
Additionally, Sheridan was also ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.

Cheese thief jailed for shoplifting

A SHOPLIFTER has been jailed for 16 weeks after magistrates criticised him for targeting the same shop on more than one occasion.
Vincent John McKnight, aged 41, of Eton Hill Road, Radcliffe, entered the shop and stole wine worth £50 from Waitrose in Manchester on September 1.
He returned to the same convenience supermarket on September 11 and stole cheese worth £19 before stealing more cheese worth £62 two weeks later on September 30.
McKnight admitted three counts of shoplifting when he appeared before Manchester and Salford magistrates’ court and was jailed after the magistrates said the offences were serious.
The court heard he had targeted a specific store and that he had a record of committing similar offences.
Magistrates also ordered him to pay £132 compensation to Waitrose.
