Damaged window

A SIX-month conditional discharge was given to a man who caused £100 damage to a window on October 24.
Martin Nicholson, aged 44, of Newby Avenue, Breightmet, admitted criminal damage and must pay £100 compensation, £85 costs and a £20 surcharge.

Driver loses licence appeal

A MOTORIST has been fined £80 for driving at 43mph in a 30mph zone.
Damon Cork, of Greenfield Avenue, Farnworth, admitted speeding n his BMW on the A575 Bolton Road in Swinton on March 23.
Bolton Magistrates’ Court fined the 29-year-old and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 court costs and gave him three penalty points.

Assault knife sentencing

David Causer, aged 43, of Car Bank Crescent, Atherton, received a 12-month community order from magistrates after admitting possession of an offensive weapon, an assault knife, in Car Bank Street, Atherton, on September 23.

He must pay an £85 victim surcharge and £85 court costs and complete rehabilitation activity and unpaid work.

Tipper truck drink-driver

A MOTORIST was banned from the road for 26 months after drink-driving a tipper truck.
Karl Edwards was in a Transit tipper van on October 9 in Scot Lane between Blackrod and Aspull in Wigan and blew a reading of 112mcg of alcohol in breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
Edwards, of Warrington Road, Wigan, admitted drink-driving at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court and received a year-long community order with 200 hours of unpaid work.
