Fine for Farnworth man who flytipped Christmas decorations
A FLY-TIPPER who dumped festive decorations and other waste in a neighbouring borough has been fined.
Andrew Poole, of Campbell Street, Farnworth, left a pile of domestic and business rubbish in an alley to the rear of Lily Lane, Bamfurlong, near Wigan, on or about April 11.
It included a piece of carpet, Christmas decorations, cardboard, signage, a mattress, two doors, shelving brackets and paint.
But the 35-year-old was traced by Wigan Council officers and prosecuted.
Poole was fined £400 and ordered to pay a £40 victim surcharge and £100 court costs after admitting fly-tipping at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court.
Electronic tag order for car damage man
MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to be electronically tagged and subject to a curfew for 12 weeks after hearing how he damaged to a vehicle.
Dean Ashton, aged 30, of Raikes Way, Darcy Lever, was found to have damaged a Skoda Citigo worth £1,400 on June 1 and diverted electricity between November 1 and June 1.
He also pleaded guilty to taking a Ford Fiesta without consent on August 17, using it without insurance or a licence on Long Lane and possessing cannabis.
Ashton will be subject to a 12 week 7pm to 7am curfew and undertake in 15 days of rehabilitation.
He must also pay £300 compensation and £150 in prosecution costs.
Damage man has to pay £310
MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to pay £205 in compensation after he admitted damaging a Bolton at Home property.
Christopher Boyle, aged 20, of The Welland, Westhoughton, admitted damaging a glass panel and also destroying a woman's ornaments on November 17.
At Bolton Magistrates' Court he was sentenced to a six month conditional discharge and, in addition to compensation, must pay £105 in costs and charges.
Scooter thief is jailed
A SCOOTER thief has been sent to prison for a total of 32 weeks by magistrates.
Mark Bates, aged 24, of Thorpe Street, Bolton, admitted stealing a 125cc Yamaha Vity, worth £1,299, on September 9.
He committed the offence in breach of a 12-week suspended jail term for theft of keys from a Cumfy Bus, which the court activated.
