FIRE crews responded to what they suspect was an arson attack in Wentbridge Road, Bolton.
They received a call from a passer-by who saw smoke coming from the property and was concerned somebody might have been inside.
Crews entered the house – which was unlocked – and extinguished the fire, but nobody was in the property and there were no injuries.
The television had been set alight along with combustible materials next to it.
The fire damaged the walls near the TV and caused smoke damage on the ground floor and parts of the first floor of the property.
Fire crews have referred the incident to police.
