A BOLTON woman has been charged in connection with a £200,000 theft from a law firm, following a police investigation into a Cumbria tourist attraction.
The bosses of the Cumbria World adventure park, in Flookburgh, have also been charged with fraudulently trying to make a financial gain and arson.
The charges follow an extensive investigation by detectives from Titan — the North West Serious and Organised Crime Unit — and financial investigators from Cumbria Constabulary into a blaze that caused catastrophic damage to the premises, which also housed a petting farm, last year.
Elizabeth Rose Egarr, aged 59, of Chantry Close, Westhoughton, has been charged with a related theft of more than £200,000 that was stolen from Arthur Smiths Solicitors.
A company, Cumbria World Limited, and two other people — Michael Anthony Milner and Malcolm James Keith were also charged.
Milner appeared at Barrow Magistrates Court on August 1 and was remanded into custody. He will appear at Carlisle Crown Court on September 1.
Keith will appear at Barrow Magistrates Court on September 5.
