A PLEA has been made to stop fly-tipping in Crompton Way after another fire last night.
Firefighters were sent to the busy main road at 10pm after a pile of dumped tyres was set alight.
Bolton North watch manager Richard Henthorne said the crews had been called out a number of times where fly-tipped tyres had been set on fire.
He added: "Someone seems to be fly-tipping. It is an issue that needs to be stopped.
"We are looking at clamping down on it now because it has been going on for quite a while."
On Sunday firefighters were called to a football pitch off Crompton Way for a blaze involving more than 20 tyres at 3pm.
It is believed to have been started by youths and badly damaged a football pitch.
