Threatening messages sent

A MAN who harassed a women and man by sending them numerous threatening messages and been sentenced to do 200 hours of unpaid work.
At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Grant Taylor, aged 25, of George Barton Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offences between December 1 and January 7. Taylor was ordered to pay a total of £170 in costs and charges and a restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victims or going to Langdale Avenue in Levenshulme.

Jailed for ignoring order

MAGISTRATES have jailed a man for eight months after he ignored a restraining order.
Anthony Berry, aged 28, of Paulhan Street, Great Lever, is banned from contacting a woman but he breached the court order by contacting her on January 27 and February 3.
Manchester magistrates heard how Berry had only recently been released from prison and had been violent to the victim on a number of occasions.
Berry pleaded guilty to breaching the restraining order and, in addition to the prison sentence, was ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Assault man sentenced

A MAN has been ordered to pay £500 in compensation after assaulting a woman and damaging her chair, door and tablet on December 4 last year.
At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Anthony Bates, aged 29, of Mort Fold, Little Hulton, pleaded guilty to committing the offences and was sentenced to a conditional discharge for 15 months.

Jailed for New Year attack

MAGISTRATES have jailed a man for 16 weeks after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman on New Year’s Eve.
Manchester Magistrates’ Court heard how Daniel Kirkman was under the influence of drink and drugs when he carried out a sustained and repeated assault on the woman.
Kirkman, aged 32, of School Street, Little Lever, was ordered to pay his victim £150 in compensation and a restraining order was made banning him from contacting her.

Man ignored court order

A MAN who ignored a restraining order and contacted a woman has been sentenced to do 80 hours unpaid work.
At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Niall Ashworth, aged 21, of Chester Avenue, Little Lever, admitted committing the offence in December last year.
He was also ordered to pay £170 in costs and charges.

Unpaid work after damage

A MAN who damaged a door and car windscreen on January 19 has been sentenced to do 60 hours unpaid work.
At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Warren Mason, aged 34, of Jackson Street, Kearsley, pleaded guilty to committing the offences.
He was also ordered to pay £185 in compensation and costs.

Assault man sentenced

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to do 40 hours of unpaid work after he admitted assaulting a woman on November 20 last year.
Christopher Neary, aged 34, of Heath Gardens, Bolton, also pleaded guilty to destroying her phone and was also ordered to participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £205 in costs and charges.

Shoplifter jailed for 28 days

A SHOPLIFTER has been jailed for 28 days.
Nicola Longworth, aged 33, of Russell Court, Farnworth, appeared at Bolton Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to stealing goods worth £17.96 from Quality Save Stores in Salford and items, worth £118, from Shanghai Stores in Bolton on two occasions
In addition to the sentence she was ordered to pay £118 in compensation.

Thief headbutted security staff

A TEENAGER who assaulted security staff after stealing bottles of spirits from a Bolton town centre store has been sentenced to eight weeks in a young offender institution.
Bolton magistrates head how Kieran Whitehead, aged 18, of Back Lane, Bolton, headbutted and kicked staff at Marks and Spencer on February 8.
Whitehead pleaded guilty to theft and assault committed whilst he was already subject to a conditional discharge for criminal damage.
He was also ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Tagged curfew for shoplifter

A SHOPLIFTER who stole goods worth £74.50 from the Tesco Express store in Manchester Road, Kearsley, has been sentenced to a four week curfew.
Samantha Chadwick, aged 43, of Hawthorn Road, Kearsley, pleaded guilty at Bolton Magistrates’ Court. 
She was fitted with an electronic tag, will be subject to a 7pm to 7am curfew and must pay an £85 victim surcharge.
