A DOCTOR is due to be sentenced after admitting illegally importing drugs he bought over the internet.
At Bolton Crown Court Dr Michael Condon, aged 40, of Holden Mill, Blackburn Road, Bolton, pleaded guilty to three offences involving the synthetic stimulant Alpha PHP, the illegal Class B drug Methloyne Powder and the psychoactive substance Flurohenmetrazine.
Condon evaded the duty on importing Alpha PHP between June 20 2016 and March 6 2017, Methloyne between December 19 and 28 2016 and imported Flurohenmetrazine between February 27 and March 6 2017.
David Wood, defending, told the court that the total amount of the drugs was 20g and they had been bought online via a server based in the Netherlands. “They were substances for personal use only,” he said.
Condon was granted bail until his sentencing hearing on May 4.
The court heard that the General Medical Council is aware of the proceedings and have placed interim conditions on his ability to practise until investigations are finished after the conclusion of the criminal proceedings.
