A MOTORIST was fined £165 after driving on solid double white lines on the A666.

Parvinder Singh, aged 43 of St Mary's Road in Manchester, pleaded guilty at Bolton Magistrates' Court to driving a vehicle on part of the motorway which was not part of carriageway.

The court heard that on September 6 last year Singh drove a Skoda Octavia on the double white lines bordered by a hatched area which separates St Peter's Way onto the Kearsley island.

He was ordered to pay a £165 fine, £30 victim surcharge and £150 in costs.

His licence was also endorsed with the DVLA.
