A 33-year-old man was arrested under the Terrorism Act and on suspicion of possessing indecent images.
The man was arrested at a home in Wildbrook Road, Little Hulton yesterday after Counter Terrorism Policing North West executed a warrant at 7am.
He was arrested under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act — possessing a record or document containing information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.
He was also arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images. He is currently in police custody for questioning.
During the police search of the property a number of suspicious items were found and EOD (bomb disposal) were called to assess the scene.
There is not thought to be any risk to the wider public.
