Police have made a fresh appeal to the public for help identifying a man whose body was found in a ravine in Bolton.
A group of teenagers stumbled across the man, believed to be in his 40s, near to Horridge Brook, off Church Road, Kearsley, on Saturday.
The body was slumped against a drainage culvert at the bottom of a steep path and it is believed the man may have slipped and died several days before being discovered.
Police have described the man as white, about 5ft 7ins tall, very thin with a gaunt, angular face.
He had grey hair and was missing two front teeth.
Forensice tests are to be carried out as police try to identify him.
PC Paul Gore of Bolton CID said: "We have had a couple of calls about the identity of this man, but we are still at a loss as to who he is.
"We will carry out forensic fingerprint tests to see if this man is known to us but it is still very important for members of the public to get in touch with us if they think they can help to identify him."
Anybody with information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 5740.
