A NEW school bus service is running from Rivington and Blackrod High School to Westhoughton.
Parents and the school expressed concerns because children as young as 11 were having to wait an hour-and-a-half for a bus to take them home.
First Bus recently altered its timetable and brought the 3.22pm bus forward to 3.17pm, leaving two minutes for children to get from school to the bus stop. The next bus to Westhoughton is 4.40pm.
But the company has now pledged to provided a dedicated after-school service.
