AN man who hid in a college while he was homeless is due to be sentenced today.
Jonathon Newns, aged 32, of Chorley Road, Westhoughton, tried to steal a television and video from an office at Bolton Community College.
He found himself locked in the building where he sought refuge after getting into an argument with a group of youths.
He tried to break-out of the building and is said to have attempted to take the equipment before running off when a caretaker unlocked the office door.
Newns, a drug addict, yesterday pleaded guilty to attempted burglary, at Bolton Magistrates Court.
Magistrates asked for a probation report before sentencing him. He was given unconditional bail until this morning.
