TEACHERS in Bolton have been rewarded for going above and beyond the call of duty.
Michael Whitmarsh and Annette Thomas were two of 12 stars of education at this year's 2007 Teaching Awards for the North-west.
Mr Whitmarsh, who teaches at Bolton School boys division was given the Teaching Award for Enterprise, and Mrs Thomas, who is based at St Paul CE Primary School in Bolton was handed the Teaching Award for Urban Leadership.
The awards were presented at a ceremony hosted by BBC presenter Di Oxberry at The Lowry.
The winners were presented with Plato, the Teaching Awards symbol for excellence in education.
