TWO men arrested in connection with the death of knife victim Paul Gilligan have been bailed.

Police were called to the Pepper Alley public house in Bolton just after 12.50am on Sunday 13 July 2008, following reports a man had been stabbed.

Mr Gilligan, aged 31, was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital but later died.

A post mortem examination revealed he died from two stab wounds.

A 23-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder and assisting an offender and a 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been bailed until 15 October 2008 pending further inquiries.

Leon Ramsden, aged 19, of Chorley New Road, Bolton, has been charged with murder in connection with the death Mr Gilligan and is due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on July 23.

i think the government need to do something about these knife crimes before another innocent persons life is lost and there family is torn by heartbreak. Its not enough setting out proposals, lifes are being lost today not tomorrow. Ihope they don't let all these innocent lifes that have been sadly taken away go in vain. Not only have the government got responibilty for the safety of out nation, parents and society also must hold some of the blame. These few who think its trendy to carry knifes and use them are nothing but scum and cowards. They spread fear to all good decent people. They also give all the youths a bad name. This needs to be addressed by the government. Those that know of them that carry knifes should do the best thing for them and innocent people who they take there anger on, phone the police. I would if it was my children, my neighbour or my friend.

so bailing these thugs means it is alright to go out and carry a knife and kill someone now because you wont get sent down, the law is backwards
