A HEADTEACHER has branded problems with this year’s SATs a “fiasco”.
Val Fryer, of Beaumont Primary, said her school was still waiting for exam scripts to be returned by marking organisation ETS.
She feared some papers, once they arrive, may have to be returned for remarking, because many have been marked in haste due to problems with the system.
“The children have worked very hard for their exams. They are upset and very disappointed by what has happened,” she said.
The school received the results online on Thursday, but because some were on the threshold of different grades, Mrs Fryer was anxious to check the marked papers against the results.
She said: “This whole thing has been a fiasco and extremely unfair on everyone, especially the children.”
