A GROUP of hikers completed a gruelling challenge after climbing the three highest peaks in Britain within 24 hours.
The Three Peaks Challenge pits walkers against Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, with only a few hours on a minibus to catch some sleep.
The hikers, David Prior and Duncan Haslam, from Westhoughton, Mike Marsh, from Horwich, Steve Fletcher, from Lostock, and Adrian Balcombe, from Leeds, are all members of the Pike View Hike organising group.
They raised £650 for the annual Pike View Hike, in which scouts from all over the country walk around Rivington Pike.
The group completed the challenge in 23 and a half hours, finishing with only 30 minutes to spare.
