Bride to be sheds six stone for her big day

WHEN super slimmer Nicola Todd started to plan her dream wedding she knew she did not want to be a “fat bride”.

So, in just 12 months, the pretty hairdresser has ditched her size 18 clothes for trendy gear to match her, now, svelte size 10 figure.

Nicola has lost an incredible six stone, dropping from 15 stone 11 pounds to nine stone six.

The 25-year-old joined Weight Watchers at Daisy Hill last June and has not looked back since.

Thanks to the support of class leader Barbara Tinsley, aged 50, and tempting Weight Watchers recipes Nicola intends to keep her weight in check for the first time since she was eight-years-old.

“I hated being fat and most of my friends at school seemed to be slim, yet they could eat exactly what they wanted to.

“I didn’t like looking at myself in the mirror and when Joe and I decided to get married I knew I didn’t want to be a fat bride,” said Nicola.

Next year Nicola will wed 26-year-old fiance Joe Beardsworth at Bag Lane Methodist Church in Atherton.

Now she has achieved her goal weight Nicola plans to start looking for a gown — a figure-skimming size 10 of course!

A year ago Nicola was wearing black from head to foot in the hope it would disguise her size.

Now she enjoys wearing dresses “for the first time in my life” and white skinny jeans that hug her new super slim figure.

And she loves going out clubbing with Joe and wearing all the latest fashions from the high street.

“It has completely changed my life,” she said.

She said eating the wrong things as a child affected her weight. But eating healthily, coupled with boxercise classes — a combination of boxing and aerobics — helped to bring her weight down.

Nicola said Joe was very proud of her. “But he met me when I was bigger and he said he would always love me whatever size I was,” she said.
