MUSICIANS from Bolton’s Youth Orchestra are teaming up with their counterparts from Germany and France to perform a special concert in the Albert Hall this week.
Members of the orchestra are currently visiting Bolton’s twin towns of Le Mans in France and Paderborn in Germany.
Having met up with the local youth orchestras, the youngsters are in the midst of challenging rehearsals that will culminate in a series of gala concerts performed in prestigious venues in the three towns.
The final concert will take place at Bolton’s Albert Halls on Thursday, July 9, and will feature pieces by Mendelssohn and Bernstein, as well as John Williams’ much-loved Star Wars Suite.
Cllr Ebrahim Adia, Bolton Council’s Executive member for children’s services, said: “It is great to see this talented group of young people get together with like- minded musicians from our twin towns.
“Not only will this event provide some fabulous entertainment for the general public, but the tour also gives our young people some great experiences and memories that will stay with them forever.”
Tickets for the concert, which starts at 7.30pm are available from the Albert Halls. Admission is £6.50 for adults, £4 for concessions or £18 for a family ticket for two adults and two concessions.
Anyone aged under 19 who comes unaccompanied will be offered a free ticket.
