AN out-of-school club has been given a satisfactory rating by the Government’s education watchdog.
School Shuttle at St Joseph’s RC Primary School in Halliwell has been praised for helping children make good progress in their personal, social, creative and physical development.
But inspectors said the club, which operates before and after school as well as during holidays, could do better when it came to improving the range and quality of resources on offer.
Ofsted noted the club had introduced a system where every child has a key worker to assess their progress and report back to parents.
Inspectors said in their report: “Children enjoy their time in the club because relationships are good and they are well cared for by staff and older children.
“There is little evaluation of how well the provision is meeting the needs of the children and therefore staff do not know what they need to do to improve the outcomes for children.”
