A TREASURE trove of stolen jewellery has been discovered by detectives in Bolton.

Now they are appealing for members of the public to come forward if they recognise the any of the items.

Detective Constable Mike Cooke said: "We have recovered numerous items of jewellery, some of which is quite distinctive, and we hope people will recognise it.

"We believe it may have been stolen from the Deane or Daubhill area of Bolton and we are looking for the owners to contact us."

Among the items recovered was a locket containing a black and white photograph of a beach scene and pendant or brooch of a St David's star on a red velvet background.

Also recovered were: three women's watches, six bracelets and four chains.

No arrests have been made in relation to these stolen goods. Inquiries are ongoing.

In December, last year, police seized thousands of pounds worth of rings and watches from an address in Heaton. In total, 29 rings, worth more than £10,000, were recovered. They were found stashed alongside eight watches, including a Maurice Lacroix wristwatch worth £1,000, and 12 Lladro figurines in the raid on the property just before Christmas.
