STEAM engines which belonged to Fred Dibnah, pictured, will take centre stage at a seaside rally. It is the first time that Aveling and Porter steam roller Betsy, and steam traction engine Colonial, will be at the same event.
Betsy is owned by his sons Jack and Roger.
The other engine was sold at auction last year to businessman Michael Oliver, who is allowing Jack and Roger to still be involved in rallying the engine. They will be accompanied by Fred’s restored Land Rover, complete with ladders.
Twenty other full size steam engines and 500 vintage vehicles will be on display at the Riverside Steam and Vintage Vehicle Rally at Banks, near Southport, on April 16 and 17. For more information visit riverside steamrally.co.uk
